About Wayne Dunne

Owner of Wild Wing Safaris, Wayne Dunne, grew up on a farm in the Central Drakensberg, and has been a passionate and enthusiastic hunter as far back as he can remember. As a youngster, he spent all his free time with either a gun or a fishing rod in his hand, and grew up under the watchful eye of friends and family who were instrumental in cementing his core values and highly principled approach towards conservation and hunting ethics. Wayne has always sought to implement the ideals of fair chase and sustainable hunting.

Wayne obtained his professional hunter’s license at the age of 21 years (the minimum age in Southern Africa) at the prestigious Goss Estates Hunting Academy. He then pursued a career in professional hunting. In his early years as a freelance hunter, Wayne was privileged enough to gain invaluable experience and expertise through working with many experienced outfitters and professional hunters.

Freelance hunting took Wayne on a remarkable journey to countries all over the world. Wayne says he was very fortunate to have the opportunity to guide and hunt in South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe, France, Austria, and the U.S.A. Wayne then started Wild Wing Safaris in 2004, which specialises in wing shooting and plains game hunting, and operates out of Winterton, Central Drakensberg, KwaZulu-Natal.
